The “Occupational Therapy” circles organized by the Center for Active Longevity (CAL) in the Baikonyr district, in collaboration with the Saryarka and Almaty district branches, held a unique ethno-fair.

The event aimed to showcase the creativity and craftsmanship of the older generation — individuals rich in life experience and skilled in traditional arts and crafts. Participants from each district offered handmade items, original paintings, souvenirs, and decorations in national style for sale.
Among the most captivating pieces were handcrafted dolls, colorful patchwork quilts (құрақ көрпе), and embroidered pillows made by grandmothers nearing 90 years of age. These items became a true symbol of patience, artistry, and deep respect for cultural heritage.

Visitors not only admired the works but also had the opportunity to engage with the artisans, exchange experiences, and draw inspiration from Kazakhstan’s rich traditions. The ethno-fair took place in a warm, friendly atmosphere, strengthening bonds between generations and promoting national values.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the grandmothers and grandfathers who actively participated in this wonderful initiative. We wish them strong health, longevity, and endless creative inspiration!
