On May 6, a theatrical concert titled “Endless Tribute” dedicated to the 81st anniversary of the Great Victory and Defender of the Fatherland Day was held in Astana. The meaningful cultural event was organized by the Active Longevity Center of the Saryarka district with the support of the district akimat and the veterans’ council.
The highlight of the festive evening was the theatrical composition “Shadow of War.” The performance was staged by the talented senior participants of the center under the direction of choreographer Aliya Abylkasymova. Through expressive сценical performances, the audience witnessed the hardships of wartime, the heroism of soldiers on the front line and the selfless labor of those working in the rear, the sorrow of mothers awaiting their loved ones, and the unbreakable spirit of the defenders of the Motherland. The production allowed viewers to emotionally connect with history and deeply appreciate the value of peace.
“Today, 45 retirees took part in the theatrical performance. Through dance movements, the performers tried to convey the hardships of the war years, the life of Kazakh villages, the labor of home front workers, the pain of receiving tragic news from the battlefield, and the joy of Victory. The ‘Shadow of War’ composition was prepared for nearly a month by the head of the dance group, Aliya Talgatovna. In total, the talented senior performers of the Saryarka district prepared around 20 musical acts for the festive concert,” said the center’s cultural organizer, Aiaru Bakytova.
During the evening dedicated to courage and heroism, heartfelt speeches were delivered by the head of the Social Services Department of the Saryarka district, Kenzhebolat Bapishev, home front workers, veterans of the Afghan War, and representatives of the veterans’ council.
Throughout the concert, wartime songs honoring the heroes were performed. The audience enjoyed such compositions as “Beibit Kunnin Tilegi,” “The Soldier Walks Through the City,” “Smuglyanka,” “Wait for Me,” “Cranes,” and “The Blue Scarf.” In addition, singer Nurbolat Beketayev performed his original song “Ardagerler,” for which he also wrote the lyrics. These songs revived the spirit of those difficult years and strengthened the audience’s respect for the heroes of the past.

The festive program also featured performances by the ethnofolklore ensemble “Agugai,” dance groups “Shabyt,” “Ademi Dauir,” “Gauhartas,” and other artists. Each creative performance enriched the evening’s atmosphere and brought joy and inspiration to the audience.
“The main purpose of such events is to honor the heroism of the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, to foster patriotism among younger generations, and to promote the value of peaceful life. Cultural and patriotic events dedicated to the May holidays are organized in all branches of the Active Longevity Centers. Around 20 events are being held, including flower-laying ceremonies at memorials, charity initiatives, lessons of courage, and festive concerts,” concluded Meruert Nurgaliyeva, head of the Department for Information Promotion of Social Services.
Residents of the city, home front workers, Afghan War veterans, and retirees attended the concert program.
The “Endless Tribute” concert became a vivid symbol of respect for the country’s history and for the exemplary lives of the older generation.
