On March 19, in celebration of Renewal Day, retirees of the Saryarka district presented a theatrical performance titled “Nauryz — a Celebration of Prosperity and Unity.”

Guests of the event felt as if they were at the heart of a traditional Kazakh celebration. The stage featured national customs such as Betashar, Besikke salu, At koyu, and Kyrkynan shygaru. Through the performance, key stages of a person’s life — from birth to starting a family — were vividly portrayed.

Welcoming remarks were delivered by Aigerim Tangirbergenova, Deputy Head of the Astana City Department of Employment and Social Protection, and Serik Karabatyrov, Director of the Active Longevity Center, who expressed their gratitude to the retirees for their creative contribution.

The evening also featured performances by the ethno-folklore ensemble Agugai, the vocal group Zamandastar, and the dance groups Shugyla and Saryarka.

Elvira Shamshikenova, Deputy Director of the Active Longevity Center, shared her impressions:
“Today we witnessed a meaningful and inspiring performance dedicated to Nauryz. The event began with a blessing from the elders, continued with the korisu tradition, and concluded with the celebration of national customs. Our talented seniors performed their roles with remarkable professionalism.”

According to organizer Aiaru Zhanuzakkyzy, such events play an important role in preserving national traditions, passing them on to the younger generation, and strengthening unity in society.

The evening concluded with a blessing from 75-year-old elder Yersalim, who wished everyone well-being and prosperity.
