In the Baikonur district, artisans from the Active Longevity Center held a master class as part of the “80+ Sheber Shop” social project.

As part of the project, the “80+ Grandmothers” club in the Baikonur district presented clothing sewing patterns for grandmothers and students.

During the master class, craftswoman Kulyash Abutalipkyzy demonstrated to students how to cut a modern kamzol using a simple method and shared practical sewing techniques. Under the guidance of the master, students sewed a kamzol with their own hands in front of the gathered audience.

“During the lesson, the grandmothers showed their willingness to share their experience and knowledge with the younger generation, while also feeling their relevance in society despite being retired. Most importantly, the students learned the basics of national handicrafts and developed their craftsmanship skills, which in turn positively impacts their fine motor skills,” said occupational therapy instructor Balyum Omirzakova.

We believe that representatives of both generations, by developing this social project, contribute to the preservation and transmission of national craftsmanship from generation to generation.
