In the Baikonur District branch of the Center for Active Longevity, a master class titled “National Clothing – a Precious Heritage” was held to commemorate National Clothing Day.
The event was attended by participants of the sewing circle. Under the guidance of Batima Kaliollakyzy, the attendees were introduced to the specific techniques and traditions of tailoring Kazakh national garments. Aknurlan Belesarova served as the moderator for the session.
During the master class, participants mastered the key stages of creating a kimeshek: from taking measurements and cutting according to patterns to applying traditional ornaments, embroidery, and assembling the final product. Additionally, the symbolic meaning of Kazakh decorative patterns was explained, highlighting the importance of craftsmanship in maintaining continuity between generations.

Throughout the process, safety regulations were observed, and participants were provided with effective practical methods. During a short break, the attendees shared personal memories and recited proverbs and sayings related to national dress. The atmosphere of the event was further enriched by the sounds of kuy (traditional instrumental music), folk songs, and a performance of a Kazakh dance.
At the conclusion of the class, the finished works were put on display, and a small fashion show was organized to showcase the items created by the participants.
