Starting from May 20, the Center for Active Longevity, as part of the opening of the summer season for city pensioners, will hold dance evenings titled “Zhadyrağan jaz” (“Joyful Summer”) in Zhetysu Park every Wednesday from 17:00 to 19:00.
The retro music evenings for senior citizens are organized to promote socialization, improve well-being, and provide meaningful leisure activities for older adults. This initiative is being implemented for the second consecutive year. In the summer season of 2025, 15 dance evenings were held for the city’s pensioners.
During the events, participants not only dance to retro music but also present their own concert performances. Dance groups and solo performers also take part in the program.
In addition, since the beginning of the summer season, morning wellness sessions have been held daily from 09:00 to 11:00 in Zheruyik, Presidential, Central, and Atatürk Parks, as well as in the Botanical Garden and on Nurzhol Boulevard.
City residents take part in yoga, rehabilitation gymnastics, Pilates, Nordic walking, and Qigong breathing exercises. These activities are aimed at improving public health and promoting a healthy lifestyle culture.
The wellness sessions are conducted by qualified instructors of the Center for Active Longevity and will continue until September according to the approved schedule.
