Today, more than 100 pensioners participated in a Nordic walking training session at the capital’s Botanical Garden. The participants were divided into beginner and advanced groups. They completed looped walking distances: the first two groups walked 3,400 meters, the third group — 3,000 meters, and the beginners — 1,800 meters using Nordic walking poles.
The master class was conducted by Tuganai Beisembayeva, an honored sports worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a distinguished sports figure, and a veteran athlete.
The main goal of the event was to promote a healthy lifestyle, extend active longevity, and maintain vitality in old age.
During the event, Mukhtar Erketaev, Director of the Center for Active Longevity, shared the secrets of graceful aging, emphasizing the importance of staying active in later years.
“Being active is not just about movement — it’s about mental alertness, connecting with others, and the pursuit of new experiences. Old age is not the end, but a new chapter,” said Mukhtar Dyusenovich.
Today’s event gave participants a boost of optimism and motivation.
