On the occasion of the Day of Languages of the People of Kazakhstan, the “Ulagat” literary association organized a round table titled “Language — A Link of Friendship.”

The event was initiated by Rauza Ismurzina, head of the “Ulagat” literary association.

The event aimed to promote respect for the languages of the people of Kazakhstan, strengthen the status of the state language, foster appreciation for one’s native language, strengthen friendship and unity among different ethnic groups through language, and promote spiritual continuity between older and younger generations.

During the round table, language advocates and enthusiasts shared their views on the role of language in people’s lives and society, the importance of respecting one’s native language, the significance of the state language, the benefits of multilingualism, and the support needed to help young people learn the Kazakh language.

As part of the evening, songs representing Polish, Ukrainian, Tatar, Russian, Korean, Kyrgyz and Greek cultures were performed and warmly received by the audience.

“Such meaningful gatherings undoubtedly contribute to strengthening harmony and unity in our country and increasing respect for languages. Our pensioners prepared thoroughly for the Day of Languages and presented a wonderful evening that beautifully combined literature and art,” said Fariza Kassenova, Cultural Organizer at the Active Longevity Centre.
