As part of the Nauryznama decade, retirees of the Active Longevity Center of the Saryshyk district in Astana presented a showcase of traditional national clothing. The center’s dombra ensemble also organized a festive concert for city residents.
Today, a vibrant event took place at the Damu Mall shopping center, where fashion and national spirit blended in perfect harmony.
Craftswomen from the Active Longevity Center of the Saryshyk district introduced the rich cultural heritage of the Kazakh people, presenting elegant and distinctive examples of traditional attire to the public.
Each ornament seemed to tell its own story, conveying the depth and meaning of long-standing traditions.
The audience was especially impressed by the performance of the “Shabyt” dombra ensemble, whose resonant kuis and melodic compositions created a unique festive atmosphere.
“Today, March 18, marks the Day of National Clothing — a celebration of our culture and spiritual heritage. Traditional attire reflects the history and richness of our people.
On this day, around ten cultural events were organized across six districts of Astana with the participation of creative groups. In total, about 40 cultural and entertainment events are planned at our Active Longevity Center as part of the Nauryznama program.

At the moment, in the hall of Damu Mall, our respected grandmothers are showcasing national costumes, while the ‘Shabyt’ dombra ensemble, made up of talented retirees, is delighting the audience with songs and kuis. On this festive day, let us share kind wishes with one another and promote our traditions,” said Meruert Kaiyrtaskyzy, Head of the Department for Information Promotion of Social Services at the Active Longevity Center.
This day became a bright and memorable celebration that honored national values and strengthened pride in our cultural heritage.
