At the Active Longevity Center, an educational competition titled «A Daughter-in-Law Grows from the Soil of Her Mother-in-Law» was held on the eve of International Women’s Day. The festive event, aimed at promoting national values, brought together retired visitors of the center and lovers of art.
The competition was organized to promote mutual respect and harmony within the family and to present the harmonious relationship between a daughter-in-law and her mother-in-law as an example to others.
The evening was held in a contest format: daughters-in-law appeared on stage together with their mothers-in-law. Participants first introduced themselves and shared their thoughts on family values. They also demonstrated their creative talents and presented traditional dishes they had prepared, showcasing their culinary skills.

Families Shalmanov, Baikonurov, Suyinbay, and Tabeev took part in the competition, demonstrating their creativity and family unity. Participants competed in several engaging rounds, including «Who Is Faster?», «Matching Game», «Do You Know the Traditions?», and «Continue the Proverb».
In the traditions quiz, the daughter-in-law from the Shalmanov family stood out with her quick thinking. In the round that tested family compatibility, the Suyinbay and Tabeev families gave matching answers, demonstrating their strong understanding and harmony.
During the talent segment, the Baikonurov family presented handmade crafts and recited poetry, while the musical performance by the Tabeev family received special appreciation from the audience. In the traditional food competition, participants presented dishes they had prepared at home to the jury, showcasing the culture of the Kazakh dastarkhan.

Each participating family proved that they are talented, exemplary, and respectful of national traditions. By the decision of the jury, four pairs advanced to the next city stage of the competition. All participants were awarded certificates of appreciation and commemorative gifts.
During the festive evening, the «Zamandastar» group of retirees performed beautiful songs, creating a joyful atmosphere for the audience. Members of the Nordic walking group performed the traditional «Kara Zhorga» dance, adding a special charm to the celebration.
«Today’s event was organized to promote national traditions, strengthen the continuity between generations, and honor mothers by expressing respect and gratitude to them. On the eve of the women’s holiday, we witnessed a wonderful evening filled with creativity and meaningful traditions», noted Nurgul Talgatovna, Head of the Social Services Department for the Almaty District.
