In the centers of active longevity across the city, national culture and traditions are being widely promoted. At the Active Longevity Center in the Almaty district, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in anticipation of the Nauryz holiday. During the event, the ribbon was cut for a little girl named Khadiya. According to the girl’s grandmother, she had been eagerly awaiting the ceremony, especially since honored guests were in attendance. “This was a very special day for our family. I hope my granddaughter grows up to be a worthy person and carries all the good qualities of the one who cut her ribbon,” said the girl’s grandmother, Nurbike Ysmagulova. The attendees also witnessed other Kazakh customs. The “Әдемі” ensemble, made up of talented grandmothers, performed songs in celebration. During the event, skilled grandmothers spun yarn and embroidered. Kazakh traditions were celebrated at all five active longevity centers in the capital. Traditions passed down through generations are precious heritage that must be promoted in every family to ensure they are not forgotten. The Nauryz holiday celebrations will continue daily until March 22.
