As part of the “Generational Continuity” project, the “Ak Bata” Grandmothers’ Association of the Active Longevity Center in the Saryarka District held an educational event titled “Bata – The Foundation of National Education” in collaboration with the Gafu Kairbekov Secondary School-Gymnasium No. 2. The main goal of the event was to foster generational continuity, promote respect and reverence for the elderly, and educate the younger generation by celebrating traditions and national values.
The event began with a performance of the song “Qazaqy Dastarkanym” by Rakilya Sadirova, leader of the “Zamandastar” ensemble and a volunteer. The grandmothers offered baursaks, scattered shashu, and an elder gave a blessing (ak bata).
During the event, elder Kalybai Esengazinovich Idrisov and members of the “Ak Bata” Grandmothers’ Association explained the deep meaning and significance of bata. They highlighted the educational impact of bata, its role in guiding the youth’s future, and performed wisdom-filled, culturally rich blessings.
Additionally, the grandmothers showcased a fashion show featuring traditional clothing and explained its importance.
Teachers and students of the school participated in the event, gaining a deeper understanding of the educational essence of bata and exploring national traditions more closely. The event provided spiritual nourishment for the younger generation and exemplified the revival of national values.
