To mark Family Day, a traditional Kazakh game of Toguz Kumalak tournament titled “Family — the Foundation of National Values” was held at the Active Longevity Center of the Nura District in cooperation with the Akimat of Nura District.
The tournament was opened by Murat Temirbolatov, Head of the Active Longevity Center of Nura District. He wished all participants success and congratulated everyone on Family Day.
Students from School No. 111 took part in the tournament, bringing together representatives of two generations — schoolchildren and pensioners. The participants competed in exciting and closely contested games. The students of School No. 111 were accompanied by their Toguz Kumalak coach, Serik Meshitbayev.
Following the results of the tournament, the Toguz Kumalak players from the Active Longevity Center of Nura District took first place in the team standings, while the students of School No. 111 took second place.

The competition was supported by the Municipal State Institution “Directorate for Organizing Sports and Mass Events” under the Akimat of Astana. Azamat Baylov, an instructor representing the Directorate, attended the event and presented the winners with cups and diplomas.
“This is a demonstration of respect for the older generation. The event was organized to promote traditional sports, strengthen the connection between older and younger generations through Toguz Kumalak, and promote family values. We thank all the athletes who took part in the competition and congratulate the winners on their victory,” said Murat Sagyndykuly, Head of the Active Longevity Center of Nura District.
During the event, the importance of traditional sports and family values was emphasized, and participants received warm words of encouragement. Such meaningful meetings help strengthen intergenerational connections, promote national traditions, and encourage a healthy lifestyle.
