Pensioners of the Baikonur district actively supported the «Taza Kazakhstan» environmental campaign held on April 25. Elderly residents of the capital, together with the staff of the Active Longevity Center, took part in activities aimed at improving the city’s sanitary condition. In particular, participants were involved in cleaning areas, landscaping, and beautification: they tidied up public spaces and collected litter.

About 40 pensioners took part in the citywide cleanup held in Atatürk Park. Together with the center’s staff, they planted 300 trees.

— «Today, the center’s pensioners planted apple trees in the park. Representatives of the older generation, by actively participating in cleanup efforts, are setting an example for the youth. Currently, pensioners from all districts are taking part in cleanup activities and contributing to the beautification of our capital», said Serik Karabatyrov, Director of the Active Longevity Center.

After working in the fresh air, the pensioners returned home in high spirits.
