In the Saryarka district, a tug-of-war competition—one of the traditional Kazakh national games—was held among pensioners. The contest, which requires both strength and teamwork, took place as part of the Nauryznama celebrations, marking National Games Day and the Nauryz holiday.
More than 20 pensioners gathered at the Active Longevity Center of the Saryarka district, demonstrating great enthusiasm and participation. The contestants were divided into three teams of six people each, with an equal number of men and women—three of each per team. The teams competed under the names “Meirim,” “Zhauqazyn,” and “Nauryz.”
The competition was intense and engaging. Participants not only tested their strength but also showcased unity, cooperation, and team spirit. Each team displayed a strong determination to win, creating an exciting and uplifting atmosphere for the audience.
As part of the celebration, participants were treated to baursaks, and the traditional “shashu” ceremony was performed. The pensioners exchanged warm wishes and blessings with one another.

According to the results:
1st place — “Meirim”
2nd place — “Zhauqazyn”
3rd place — “Nauryz”
In addition, the festive spirit was enhanced by performances from the dance groups “Gauhartas” and “Ademi Dauir,” as well as individual artists.
The winners were congratulated by Kenzhebolat Bapishev, Head of the Social Services Department of the Saryarka district, who presented them with diplomas, medals, and commemorative gifts.
This meaningful event not only promoted national traditions but also made a valuable contribution to encouraging an active lifestyle among pensioners.
