To mark the first spring holiday, pensioners of the capital organized a festive concert featuring representatives of two generations. As part of promoting intergenerational continuity, the Higher College of Transport and Communications, together with the Center for Active Longevity of the Saryarka district, held a memorable evening dedicated to March 1 — Gratitude Day.

The aim of the event was to preserve and strengthen the spiritual, cultural, and creative connection between generations, as well as to promote mutual respect and continuity.

The concert was opened by the College Director, Birlik Kapezov, who delivered a welcoming speech and подчеркнул the importance of Gratitude Day as a symbol of unity and appreciation. The Head of the Social Services Department of the Saryarka district, Kenzhebolat Bapishev, also addressed the audience, expressing gratitude to the college staff for their contribution to strengthening intergenerational dialogue and spiritual ties. On behalf of the Center’s Director, Serik Karabatyrov, he presented a letter of appreciation.

An honored guest of the evening was Bekbolat Makhmetov, a service recipient of the Center and a veteran railway worker, who shared his heartfelt wishes with the audience.

During the concert program, young performers dedicated their artistic performances to the older generation. National songs were performed, along with expressive dance compositions. The audience was especially impressed by the “Ägugai” ethno-folklore ensemble of national instruments, composed of participants of retirement age. The ensemble members demonstrated outstanding mastery of traditional instruments and revealed new facets of their artistic talent.

A sports composition based on Nordic walking attracted great interest, while the “Kerbez” men’s model group defile was warmly received, particularly by young spectators.

The evening concluded with the “Dance of Friendship,” featuring dances of various ethnic groups. The culmination of the celebration was the joint performance of the song “Atameken” by representatives of both the younger and older generations, adding special warmth and meaning to the festive event.

“I can confidently say that today’s concert, held within the framework of intergenerational continuity, gave everyone present a spiritual uplift. Through the creative performances, we clearly saw the friendship of our multiethnic people, as well as the atmosphere of respect and appreciation for other cultures. The Center’s pensioners set a bright example for the younger generation,” concluded Kenzhebolat Saparuly, Head of the Department.

The meaningful and inspiring event was organized at a high level and left participants with positive emotions and vivid impressions.
