Today, the 12th reporting and election conference of the City Council of Veterans was held. This important event, organized once every five years, was dedicated to forming the new composition of the council.

The main objectives of the conference were to review the work accomplished, elect a new council membership, approve the chairperson and members of the presidium, and nominate delegates to the national congress. The meeting was moderated by Council Chair Sansyzbay Yessilov.

Among the participants were Deputy Akim of the city Yeset Bayken, First Deputy Chair of the Republican Council of Veterans Omirkzak Ozganbayev, and Chair of the Maslikhat Tabigat Zeynullqabden, who observed the discussion of key agenda items.

The agenda included four main issues: presentation of the activity report, the report of the audit commission, election of the new council membership, and selection of delegates to the congress.

The conference was attended by 76 delegates from six districts of the city, as well as representatives of other public veteran organizations, veterans from the education sector, and members of various veteran associations.

In addition, an important national political issue was raised during the conference — the upcoming republican referendum scheduled for March 15.

Following the main report, participants in the debate evaluated the council’s performance as “satisfactory.” As a result of the vote, the council membership was approved at 49 members. By unanimous decision of all delegates, Sansyzbay Yessilov was elected Chair of the City Council of Veterans for the third time. The report of the audit commission was heard, and other council members were confirmed.

“Today’s conference achieved its goals and produced concrete results. Previously, the council consisted of 40 members, but due to the increase in the number of city districts, it has now been expanded to 49 members. Moving forward, we will continue our work with a renewed team and fresh momentum for the benefit of the city’s retirees,” noted the newly elected Executive Secretary of the council, Saltanat Dauletkhankyzy.

The Council of Veterans will continue its work in the areas of youth upbringing, strengthening intergenerational continuity, and promoting national values.

During the conference, active public figures — Marat Karimuly, Sharipa Ustemirova, Serik Shaiman and other members of the intelligentsia — also delivered speeches and shared their views.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Deputy Akim Yeset Berikuly expressed gratitude on behalf of the Akim and highly appreciated the role of the veteran community in society.
