As part of the Generational Continuity project, a friendly chess tournament between pensioners and schoolchildren was organized at the Center for Active Longevity in the Saryarka district. The intellectual competition brought together students of Gymnasium School No. 2 named after G. Kaiyrbekov and active pensioners of the center.
The main goal of the event was to strengthen intergenerational ties, create opportunities for experience exchange between younger and older generations, promote a healthy lifestyle, and develop logical thinking and intellectual abilities through the game of chess.

Overall, the chess club in the Saryarka district operates on a systematic basis. Active senior chess players of the district — Bekbolat Makhmetov, Sagyndyk Aitpaev, and Arik Kasenov — take part in daily training sessions, regularly participate in various tournaments, and serve as role models for the younger generation.
The tournament was held at a high level in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual respect. Participants demonstrated strong preparation, strategic thinking, and a keen interest in the game.
According to the results of the competition among schoolchildren:
• 1st place — Azat Maratov
• 2nd place — Nurislyam Makhmut, Roma Protsenko, and Yeraly Aibek
• 3rd place — Altair Askarov

During the tournament, schoolchildren together with the center’s pensioners — Sabyr Abydygaliev, Galym Nurymov, Akpar Mashanly, Mukhtar Akhmetov, and Shalkarbek Tyshtybaev — showcased intense and meaningful games.
At the conclusion of the tournament, all participants were awarded certificates, medals, and commemorative gifts. Such events not only strengthen generational continuity but also make a significant contribution to the development of intellectual sports.
