On October 1, in honor of Radio Workers’ Day, the ASYL MURA Ethnofestival hosted a competition for the Best National Costume. The “Kerbez models” group from the Saryarka District Active Longevity Center won the nomination. The models took to the stage in elegant outfits with traditional ornaments, earning a warm ovation from the audience. They impressed not only with their attire but also with their graceful walk and confident stage presence.

This victory became a great source of inspiration for the group, giving them fresh creative energy. The team is led by retiree Ekaterina Zhakiakizy, while choreographer Tomiris Baykenova trains the participants in stage movement and runway techniques. Today, the stylish grandmothers of Kerbez models proudly promote traditional clothing. They meet three times a week at the Saryarka District Center for rehearsals, and the group now unites 20 participants.
