Today, in honor of the International Day of Older Persons, more than 50 retirees from the Nura district organized a special flash mob with a traditional Kazakh dance at the Lovers’ Park. The participants were grandmothers and grandfathers from the dance group of the Nura district branch of the Center for Active Longevity. Among them was the award-winning choreographic ensemble Kyzdarai, a winner of international competitions, led by professional choreographer Irina Smagulova.

It is worth noting that since February 2024, retirees in the Nura district have been actively taking part in dance classes. At present, 111 retirees are regular members of the local dance group. Dance classes are well established across all six district branches of the Center for Active Longevity, with nearly 500 retirees now practicing dance and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Each district runs clubs according to the interests of the elderly. For instance, in the Almaty district there are the groups Aelita, Saltanat, Aibi; in Baikonur – Kyzgaldak, Dostar, Inzhu Dance, Zhalyn; in Esil – Zhana Tolkyn; and in Nura – Elegance and Anyz. Through today’s flash mob, the retirees not only sincerely congratulated their peers on the Day of Older Persons but also promoted an active and healthy lifestyle. Older people are the treasure of our nation! Dear representatives of the senior generation, we wholeheartedly congratulate you on the Day of Older Persons!
