On August 28th, 47 pensioners from the Active Longevity Center set off on the «Abaitanu» excursion tour from the Astana-1 railway station to the city of Semey and the village of Zhidebai. Before the trip, a member of the center, Ormanbek Orazuly, gave a blessing to the participants, and the travelers departed for the sacred land of Abai.

The excursion took place from August 28th to 31st. The program included visits to the monument to Koshkbai Batyr, the «Enlik-Kebek» monument, the Mukhtar Auezov Museum, the «Abai’s Path» park, Abai’s birthplace and house-museum, the Abai-Shakarim mausoleum complex, and the Kayim Orazalin Museum in Zhidebai, as well as literary-memorial complexes in Semey.

«The goal of the Abaitanu tour is to develop social tourism and introduce pensioners to the life and creative work of the great thinker», — said Kymbat Tasimova, Head of the Prospective Development and Social Projects Department of the center. According to her, the first group had already successfully completed the trip earlier (August 23-27). A total of 91 pensioners participated in this project.

Lazzat Kopzhasarova, a participant of the center and a holder of the «Altyn Alka» award, also expressed her particular joy about the trip. According to her, seeing Abai’s legacy firsthand and visiting his homeland was a significant spiritual boost.

This journey to the land of the great poet was an educational and meaningful event for the capital’s pensioners, granting them unique spiritual strength.
