The skilled grandmothers of the Active Longevity Center held a meeting with school students as part of the “Generational Continuity” project. They conducted a master class for the 9th grade “E” class of the Physics and Technology School No. 73 in Astana. During the lesson, the grandmothers shared the secrets of sewing, showed the girls how to take measurements, and taught them how to sew skirts. The main goal of the lesson was to promote the sewing profession, which has recently been in demand, and to introduce girls to handcrafts. The master class was timed to coincide with the declaration of 2025 as the “Year of Skilled Workers.” Art therapy instructors Maisheker Zhannatova and Turdygul Suleimenova emphasized that being a tailor is a creative profession, and talented people always achieve success. At the end of the lesson, the class teacher, Raushan Taymankyz, thanked the active grandmothers involved in generational education and requested that they visit the school more often. In turn, 9 “E” class students Saida Maksatova and Togjan Tuleuova stated that sewing is the work of hands and imagination, and that one should dream of mastering the profession from childhood. The master class, aimed at career guidance, was valuable information for high school students.
