In celebration of International Volunteer Day, the Active Longevity Center awarded elderly volunteers. About 30 silver volunteers received certificates, letters of gratitude, and commemorative gifts.

Currently, the “Silver Volunteers” club, operating under the Active Longevity Center, includes around 80 retirees aged 61 to 70. These volunteer grandparents actively participate in charity events and environmental clean-ups in Astana, conduct free workshops, and collaborate with city schools and young students to promote intergenerational connections.

Additionally, the Center’s silver volunteers have carried out numerous impactful initiatives under a Memorandum with the “National Volunteer Network” legal entity association and the “Astana Zhastary” Youth Resource Center. Elderly volunteers in the city are often involved in charitable activities. For instance, members of the “Silver Volunteers” club in the Nura district organized concerts at the “Sharapat” elderly care home and charity events at the “Zhansaya” social service centers.

In their free time, the grandmothers of the “Silver Volunteers” club knit clothes and create handmade gifts for children with special needs.
